Removals during Covid-19

During the Covid-19 lockdown, we have spoken to a number of our purchasers and vendors who have raised questions surrounding the physicality’s of moving home on completion day. We therefore contacted our recommended removal company – TXM Movers and caught up with Director, Ross Rivers Aurora to help with your removal questions.

The need for a good removal company is probably one of the most overlooked elements when moving home. Many feel that renting a van on completion day will achieve results. Are you still able to move people during Covid-19?

At TXM Movers we have limited our services to help in the effort to slow the spreading of Covid19. We are still facilitating the more essential logistics and helping to transport much needed supplies. Additionally, we are still helping people to move homes where it is safe to do so and it is deemed essential – key workers, vulnerable people, and people who need to fulfil a legal obligation from the exchanging of contracts.

What additional steps have you taken to ensure safety for staff and customers?

We have now introduced a 6 step cleaning process to all our vans and equipment, completed after every working day. Removals blankets are being used in sets, cleaned and vacuumed packed before being stored for 14 days. Staff members are being checked for symptoms twice daily while working and also on days off. All staff have now been provided with additional PPE – Gloves, masks and hand sanitisers.

Are you able to provide quotations for new customers due to move in lockdown or shortly after?

We are working closely with people wanting to move home and facilitating with quotations via our new online quotation portal. This allows customers to select items in each room of their home and give an accurate calculation of the weight and space needed. We are also giving people room for error and taking the rough with the smooth where mistakes are made and honouring our quotations. Additionally, we are not taking deposits or not charging for any date changes or last minute cancelations.
