Online traffic created by people looking to buy and rent a new home is significant and thus there is no surprise that over the last few years, several attempts have been made to disrupt the leading property portals giants. One newcomer causing the biggest debate among property professionals is ‘OnTheMarket.com’ which is billed as a direct competitor to Rightmove and Zoopla. Not only in competition but OnTheMarket states that members can only go with one other portal, quite controversial in itself, sufficient to say all eyes will be peeled for what will be a very interesting launch and how well it will perform in achieving results.
With the launch date fastly approaching, excitement builds as Estate Agents around the country prepare for what maybe one of the largest online changes to occur in the property market in recent years.

VitalSpace feel that the new portal is by far the most serious property portal to challenge the existing online property leaders. Many agents believe that it has the power to disrupt that duopoly permanently. Due to the ‘one other portal’ rule – VitalSpace Estate Agents have chosen to withdraw all properties from Zoopla but will remain on Rightmove.co.uk
More and more estate agents throughout the UK are deciding to move the advertising of their properties away from one of the current portal leaders and to display them all at OnTheMarket.com. This means OnTheMarket.com is a “must view” place to search if your looking to buy or rent a new home, not least because the vast majority of the properties on the portal will have been effectively removed from Rightmove or Zoopla.
