The world of business has changed drastically over the past few years – perhaps for the better. Indeed, as the adverse effects of pollution and greenhouse gases become common knowledge, we have taken proactive steps to reduce our environmental footprint.

As you will know, global warming and climate change have become massive issues and are affecting the entire planet and the property industry is not renowned for its green credentials. At VitaLSpace, we have always been conscious of the environment and our team are actively encouraged to walk to appointments where possible instead of driving. However, with our mission in mind to become Eco Friendly Estate Agents, simply walking to viewings or a valuation isn’t enough. We felt further proactive steps were needed to reduce our carbon footprint.

Recycling

The first obvious move was to become paperless. Thanks to most services being available online now, including online document signing and storage, we have already been able to drastically cut down on our use of paper for most of our lettings and sales processes.

As we move towards becoming a sustainable business, our Urmston office is equipped with special bins for the recycling of widely used materials to reduce our consumptive waste. We employ the services of a Manchester based eco friendly confidential recycling company, chosen for their 0% landfill commitment policy.

Eco Friendly Boards

The VitalSpace team have decided to go eco friendly with our advertising boards. VitalSpace erect hundreds of boards in the South Manchester area, each and every year. From January, 2022 all our marketing boards have been replaced with fluted board made from recycled plastic’s which once used, can be recycled. In partnership with our board manufacture, once recycled, our boards are used to make items such as garden planters and furniture, compost bins and vehicle parts including car bumpers.

Planting Mangrove Trees

We have also partnered with a Moving Specialists company to assist with all the essential home move admin like updating the council tax as well as searching for great-value packages on things like your electric and gas bills. Not only does this save our customers time, hassle and money but it helps save our planet too. Working in partnership with Worldview International Foundation, they will plant a mangrove tree for every customer who uses our partnered moving specialist. Mangrove trees help look after sea life by filtering pollutants, form a living bio-shield to protect from storms and tsunamis, and have a carbon storage capacity up to 5x larger than rainforests.
